Have just a smidgeon of money and free sources don't have what you need? Try some of these sources:
- 99 Cent Store: There is one at 26th and Market, just up the street from Presbyterian Urban Ministries. You can get brand new flip flops, t-shirts, bras, underwear and other essentials for about a dollar apiece.
- Humble Heart Thriftstore: This is at 16th and Island, across the street from God's Extended Hand. It has the best prices of the three thrift stores on 16th street. It is also very clean. I typically go here first. If I can't find what I need, then I go to another thrift store. Open Monday through Saturday. They close at 7:00pm. I think they open at 10:00 am.
- Goodwill: This is at Broadway and 16th. It is fairly large. It is not as cheap as Humble Heart and not as expensive as City Digz. It opens earlier (at 8:00am) and closes later than the other two as well.
- City Digz: This is at Market and 16th. More expensive than Humble Heart or Goodwill. They open at 10:00am Monday through Saturday. I think they close at 6:00pm. There are other thrift stores. I will try to list a few more later. The three above are the most convenient to services for the homeless. So I am starting with them.
