Even if you have no money, you can get clothes. Here are a few resources I know about:
- God's Extended Hand: On Island, between 16th and 17th, GEH has a little building where you can get free clothes, hygiene items and sometimes things like blankets or bags. They are open 8:00am to 9:00am Mon, Tues, Thurs and Sat plus 4:00pm to 5:00pm on Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri and Sun. You stand outside the locked fence and let the guy know know what you need. If it is available, he does his best to match your needs.
- Presbyterian Urban Ministries:You can get a few things here once every thirty days. Show up by 9:00am, take a number and all that.
- The Vegans: They do a free meal on Sunday about 1:00pm, across the street from Neil Good. They also usually give away clothes and sometimes other things, like bedding or reading glasses.
- Chicken Night: This is a weekly event about 7:00pm Wednesday night in front of the jail at Union and B. They also sometimes give away clothes.
